Teachers... learn to relate the visual arts to your curriculum by using
Laumeier Sculpture Park as your classroom setting. At our educator workshop
take a walking tour of the park and explore lively projects, hands-on
activities and information you can use in your classroom!
1) What¹s Your Angle
Discussion with William Thayer, Associate Professor of Mathematics
For Teachers Grades 4-12
Learn how the angles, spheres, and forms found in Laumeier Sculpture can
stimulate classroom math instruction. Special focus is problem solving,
skill-building, and real-life applications of mathematics.
2) Poetry In Motion
Discussion with Pam Pirio, Museum Educator
Discover the relationship between listening, viewing and writing using seven
Laumeier sculptures as a basis for stimulating classroom writing.
3) Ecology: Recycle, Reuse and Biodegrade
Discussion with Karen Mullen, Curator of Education
Combine a love of nature and the environment with sculpture to integrate
science and art. Learn how to combine these four aspects into a lively
classroom experience.
