Linear Motion
A. Speed is a constant and equal to some number found by using a ratio of a distance per time period.
Speed for linear motion is the same as "RATE" or "Velocity" and when speed is constant then "INSTANTANEOUS" and "AVERAGE" speed or velocity equal this constant.
B. Direction Of Motion is along a striaght line.
A straight line is thought of as the shortest line from one point to another in Euclidean Geometry.
C. d = r t is a formula for linear motion at a basic level of understanding.
Average speed or rate relations and instantaneous speed or rate extend the meaning of d = r t .
