Basic Ten (or Twelve) Exponent Rules

Rule number three is often written as two rules

to have only positive exponent answers.

When y = 2 in rule seven the radican index is left blank.

Negative base numbers and integer exponents extends

the exponent rules and results in a positive, if the exponent

is even, or a negative, if the exponent is odd, answer.
