BINOMIAL

( p + q )4 = ( p + q ) ( p + q ) ( p + q ) ( p + q )

OR

( p + q )4 =   p4 + 4 p3 q + 6 p2 q2 + 4 p q3 + q4

DICE APPLICATIONS DICE APPLICATIONS     FOR A.     Toss 4 Dice; Event {ones, twos, threes}

Use p = 1/2 and q = 1/2

DICE APPLICATIONS DICE APPLICATIONS     FOR B.     Toss 4 Dice; Event {ones, twos}

Use p = 2/3 and q = 1/3

DICE APPLICATIONS DICE APPLICATIONS     FOR C.     Toss 4 Dice; Event {ones}

Use p = 5/6 and q = 1/6

I.   Calculate the Theoretical Probabilities that correspond to your Experimental Probabilities given the conditions listed above. Click here for example calculations done on another binomial if you need help.

II.   Make a new bar graph with the same scales used in your graph for experimental probabilities but plot the theoretical probabilities this time.

III.   Write about the theoretical probabilities and experimental probabilities for your A, B or C. Find and use some way to tell how close these probabilities are to each other.
