• New Additions:       Current Semester Course Schedule   Time to expand your horizons by learning more mathematics!   Expect some more projects for your mathematics students from MTH.BZ. The workers are slowly leaving this site with some great implementations for many levels of algebra.   For some geometry ideas, we found a gold nugget of math related 13th century history posted under Castel Del Monte with its geometry more exposed.

• Function Festival Multi-grade level math shows were fun to create and produce for college math students to show some course concepts to elementary school students. Lots of action soon for this attraction!

• Carousel The Dentzel Carousel in Faust Park is a great ride and a lot of learning fun. See how we can mix several functions together.

• Helix Tour a helix in a parking garage in downtown St. Louis across the street from Busch Stadium where the Cardinals play.

• Poly-Ring Math Surface Circus This "Math Circus" is a fresh approach in collaborative learning and a lot of fun. With seven performances completed, our learning model is ready to go on the road.

• Out Juggling In My Class A multi act play given in the form of a speech about juggling. Some humor and lots of math and science is presented for high school through college level students and teachers. Of course each ACT has a course number file: JUG:123, JUG:004, JUG:005, ..., and JUG:012. Check out the Out Juggling In My Class syllabus for names and descriptions.

• The Saint Louis Gateway Arch The geometry and mathematics of the Gateway Arch is presented in two ways. Good exercises and projects for algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus and calculus classes.

• Our Local Amusement Park Six Flags Over Mid-America has a math and science day each year. junior high, high school, and college students may enjoy working through exercises and projects written and completed by former students. This OLAP project is a good mixture of many levels of exercises for your math club.

• The St. Louis Science Center Planetarium Some graphs were made from equations of this structure. You can get more information about the planetarium mathematics and hyperbola designs.     There are some who feel that ET was here in December 2005 but we know better. See for yourself!

• Millennium Hotel St. Louis/Four Points by Sheraton St. Louis Downtown Dine at the top of the Millennium Hotel and see St. Louis as you turn. Some students asked questions about the turning restaurant. Others investigated many circles and arcs used in this hotel's designs. Both hotels together were formerly called The Regal Riverfront Hotel

• The Botanical Garden Math Projects Join some algebra students on a trip to the Garden. They took measurements for your exercises.

• Jefferson Barracks Bridge Mathematics Projects Located south of the Gateway Arch are four very large parabolic structures.

• Old Busch Stadium Math This oval was not an ellipse. Geometry students can practice constructions with arcs of circles while algebra students work on graphs.

• Monks Mound in Cahokia Mds. Park How much dirt is in MONKS MOUND? Make a guess then try to demonstrate your answer.

• Greensfelder County Park Behind Six Flags you can find hills with steep slopes - a good place to learn about slope ideas. Also a good place to meet the St. Louis Experiential Education Council for more outdoor math, science and related projects.

• Powder Valley Foot Bridge Near the intersection of Interstates 270 and 44 you can locate and take measurements on a foot bridge then answer some questions.

• Laumeier County Park A large toy sculpture makes for interesting algebra and geometry excursion. Check out some new additions and give your answers and evaluations of our new sculpture projects.

• Saint Louis Community College at Meramec SLCC at Meramec is home to our mathematics projects and to information about courses.

• StL Global Positioning System and Traffic Maps Did you ever walk around a neighborhood and wonder how far, how steep the slopes, how many homes, how many people, how many cars,...? Or drive using direction and distance information? (Under Construction)

• For Real Students Of Mathematics For algebra, pre-calculus, trigonometry and calculus students to learn by working with proofs and developing algebra ideas used in every day ways beyond algebra. You may think you know trig identities but did you make sure you could demonstrate the algebra theorems before you used them for later demonstrations in calculus? Stop by these pages and hone your skills to prefection at the foundations of these subjects.

• A Spring 2001 calculus I class field trip with assessment and some student example math models are on display for your interest in calculus course material.

• Castel Del Mont is a medieval castle designed by King Fredrick II Hohenstaufen around 1240 A.D. The geometry of Castel Del Monte challenges our skill with compass and straight edge.

• The Meramec River Basin and The Big Bend Boulevard Trail squeeze the education of a life time from your best thinking. Are you up to having a natural design made by millions of years of tiny drops with one dust, dirt or mineral particle each play with your thoughts??
