The Second Annual Festival was our first one at the Grant Shelter in
Jefferson Barracks park. We also found a weekend that wouldn't conflict
with other regional festivals: September 27-29, 1996. The Aurora juggling
club: "Up for Grabs" were our extinguished--er, um DIStinguished guests
that year. In fact, on Friday evening, Chicago people outnumber St.
Louisans. The highlight of the weekend were the giant beachballs that Al
Stanger brought. Steve Rahn taught several folks a few different beachball
juggling patterns, and a group of us performed a beach number in the public
show.

1995
That festival was held on the weekend of World Juggling Day: June 16-18, 1995. Unfortunately it conflicted with the Flatland Festival--we really screwed up in that regard. We held that festival at several different sites: Hope Presbyterian Church, West County YMCA, and Union Station (oh yeah. .and Jim Coughlin's parents' house). We had a great turn-out for a first fest. Lots of the folks from Madison, WI and Columbus, OH made the trip in. We had Ben Schoenburg (Serious Juggling) from Portland, Tom Fitsgerald (GAteway to Flight) from here in town, and Neil Stammer (Capitol Juggling) as prop vendors. Dale Jones participated in the public show. Neil and Ben both performed in the publich show and the competition. The festival T-shirt was a take off of M.C. Escher's "Relativity"--with assorted juggling activities going on in three different coordinate systems.
